Well it has been a nice fall this year, cool and comfortable here in Boise. If you are a follower of this Travel Diary you will no doubt realize that my feet have been itching like crazy to get back on the road. However, last week my youngest boy cat had to have a little oral surgery. Come Saturday he was still not ready to travel so I made the command decision to delay my departure by one week. I now plan to depart Boise/Meridian on Monday 27 October.
Since my last posting regarding schedule changes a lot has happened. Though I have not made any additional schedule changes I am starting to think about it. For example I am planning to attend a navy reunion in Holy Loch, Scotland in May of 2009. With all the events going on these days with the economy I am beginning to suspect it may be difficult to get a reunion organized for then. For now I will just have to wait and see. I do still plan to spend next summer in Rapid City, North Dakota and parts between there and Boise, Idaho.
My winter plans are unchanged. When I depart here I will head to St. George, Utah for a couple of weeks. Then I will head on to Las Vegas for about a month then on to Quartzsite, Arizona for a week or two then to Phoenix. I will stay in Phoenix for a couple of months then I will head further South and roam around in Southern Arizona for a month or so before heading back to Boise in the Spring.
In the last few weeks I have been spending time with family and working. On Saturday 27 September my son Ray, my granddaughter Ellery and I went to the Treasure Valley Highland Games and Gathering. We have gone to the games almost every year over the last 10 years. Over those years we have noticed the gathering to steadily grow in size. This year I am not sure but I don't think it was any larger than last year. Maybe even a little smaller.
